I searched the web for the county board and the county assessor. I sent this email to everyone I could find that will be running for office in 2 years:
I have had my building for almost 20 years. This year my property taxes went FROM $5,259.45 in 2002 to $11,188.02 in 2003.
My 1st bill in March was $2,629.73, my second bill in November was $8,558.29!!!
Yes, I appealed the assessment and was turned down! I am going to have to sell my building BECAUSE for these taxes!!!
I can't understamd how you expect people can pay this much increasement, BUT I know what will happen to you AND the County Board when you run for re-election.
