We are an exciting, award-winning show chorus performing four-part harmony, barbershop style. Members of Sweet Adelines International, we are known for our fine harmony and our dynamic energy. Harborlites is committed to the highest standards of musical excellence, education, personal growth ?— and the magic we create in every captivating performance!
We are the Harborlites Chorus, over 120 women who meet weekly to sing, to dance, to learn, and to teach the art of vocal a cappella and barbershop music.
Based in Anaheim, California, the Harborlites Chorus was founded in 1960 as a chapter of Sweet Adelines International to encourage and promote barbershop singing for women. In the ensuing decades, Harborlites has grown both in numbers and in recognition, winning both regional championships and international medals, with our performances incorporating fine singing along with innovative choreography and our trademark: energy!
Women of all ages and backgrounds make up the Harborlites Chorus. We have college students and company CEOs, current voice instructors and former ballerinas, international quartet champions and women just learning the art of barbershop singing. Under the leadership of our gifted director, Pam Pieson, we meet weekly to hone our craft and to create harmony.
Harborlites prides itself on performances which present our repertoire ranging from Broadway favorites to poignant ballads to vocal jazz to barbershop classics ?— all given the Harborlites trademark energetic twist!
Harborlites has several outstanding quartets currently competing and performing around Southern California. We also count several International Quartet champions, International Faculty members, and renowned coaches in the barbershop community among our membership and are proud to have them share their musical artistry and expertise.
Of course, like everyone preparing for the rigors of International competition, the Harborlites also work with world-class coaches.
We hope you enjoy getting to know the Harborlites a little better ?— and, when you have the opportunity, come hear us ''live'' at a show or rehearsal. Our energy and enthusiasm are contagious!
