Hartwell and Neighbors Association Dispatch

Nov 30, 2001

Hi Neighbors:

We are about to embark upon another holiday season, however, the tragic events that occurred on September 11, will be engraved in our memory
forever. I am sure that we all have something to be thankful for this year, but let us not forget that there are others that are less fortunate than we are.

*Kudos to all all the neighbors who kept their houses and yards so beautiful this spring and
summer.

The "Angels Night Patrol" was a success thanks to the support and volunteer efforts of a few. Bill Stovall is to be commended for being a good neighbor an a staunch supporter of this adminis-tration for over 15 years. He never fails to respond when he is asked.

We have had several complaints about the continu-ed disregard of the ordinance pertaining to bulk pick-up. There is a fine for this offense and we hope that the new Mayor will see that it is en- forced. Please put your courville out on our
assigned pick-up day.It should be placed out front the evening before the third Wednesday.

The speed limit on Schoolcraft is 30 miles per hour, the lives of many children are at stake, if we continue to exceed that limit. It has been re- ported that some persons insist on breaking the law, over and over again. Please remember that the speed limit on residential blocks is 25 miles per hour.

There are ongoing complaints about the litter and
debri on the street and at some homes. Pleae ask your children not to throw paper and other items after finishing withthem, put it in a trash receptacle. I hope that we all would like to live in a clean city, but we will have to work at making this a making this a reality.

Did you exercise your right to vote on election day? we hope that you did. If you did not, you have no reason to complain about what is wrong with this city and the nation. Many of us fought and some died for this priviledge. this writer is proud to be among the number who took part in the struggle in Alabama, and one that cannot believe the apathy that still exist in the 21st Century.
