HAWAII'S THOUSAND FRIENDS

WE are a community supported non-profit corporation.

WE are dedicated to ensuring that growth is reasonable and land use decisions are made that protect the environment, human health and cultural and natural resources, and that decisions are made and proposals are implemented in conformity with law.

WE have legal and planning expertise in the area of land use.

WE have a full-time Executive Director to manage the organization.

WE believe that all land use decisions and actions are a process in which the entire community should participate, and we are committed to acting with foresight and strength on behalf of our citizenry.

WE represent, through our membership and Board of Directors the public interst in land use matters.

WE advocate the public interest through appropriate administrative and judicial channels.

WE receive support from individuals, corporate donations and grants.

ACTIVITIES

ESTABLISH a network of communication by acting as a resource for and informational exchange among public and private individuals and groups.

EDUCATE though meetings, lectures, workshops and reports.

ADVISE public and private decsision makers on proposed legislation and changes in land use after research and evaluation of facts and law.

DEFEND the public interest in maintaining Hawaii's beauty and natural resources and insure responsible growth.

MEMBERSHIP

EVERYONE is invited to join. Your membership in HTF will enable you to receive our newsletter, and to participate in shaping Hawaii's future. Your membership gives you the opportunity to help determine land use and environmental decisions affecting your community. HTF is a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation, donations are tax deductibile.
