Heritage Neighborhood Association Bylaws

I. Name
The name of this association shall be the Heritage Neighborhood Association.

II. OBJECT
The Heritage Neighborhood Association is established by the residents of the neighborhood in order to unite the common interests and promote the welfare of the neighborhood and its residents. Then neighborhood association shall concern itself with a variety of issues including, but not limited to matters affecting livability and quality of the neighborhood and the community in general.

III. BOUNDARIES
North: NE 152nd Avenue & NE 99th Street
East: NE 182nd Avenue
South: NE 162nd Avenue & 4th Plain, south to city limit
West: city limit border to 122nd Ave

IV. MEMBERSHIP
The membership of the Heritage Neighborhood Association is open to all residents, homeowners, and manager of multiple-family dwellings. Profit and non-profit organizations within the boundaries of this neighborhood shall be included but limited to one vote per organization.

V. OFFICERS
The officers of the Heritage Neighborhood Association shall be a President, Vice-President, Secretary, and Treasurer. The above officers shall preside over all meetings, planning sessions, and activities of the neighborhood association. The collection of officers shall also be referred to as the “Board”.

VI. MEETINGS
The Board of the neighborhood association must meet not less than once annually to discuss neighborhood business. A general membership meeting will be held at least once a year. All decisions made by the Board must be confirmed by a majority vote of the membership attending a general meeting.

VII. EXECUTIVE BOARD
Members of the Executive Board will include the officers and the committee chairpersons. All officers and chairpersons must reside within the boundaries of the neighborhood association.

VIII. COMMITTEES
Special committees to handle specific concerns may be appointed by the Board as necessary.

IX. VOTING
All eligible members 18 years old and older are entitled to one (1) vote, but must have attended a general meeting within the previous 12 calendar months prior to the current meeting.

X. ELECTION OF OFFICERS
Two officers shall be elected each year. The President and Secretary shall be elected on odd years and the Vice-President and Treasurer shall be elected on even years. Elections t o refill vacant positions shall occur whenever such vacancies occur.

XI. AMMENDMENTS TO THE BYLAWS
These bylaws may be amended at a special called meeting by a two-thirds (2/3) vote of the membership voting. The proposed amendments have to be submitted in writing and/or read to the membership at least one general meeting before being voted upon.

XII. FUNDING
There are no membership fees. Voluntary contributions, contracts, grants, subscriptions, or fund-raising activities may be used by the neighborhood association.
