Below are some safety tips from police dept: 1)Keep front & back porch lights on 2)Keep windows & doors locked 3)Trim shrubbery that hides doors & windows 4)Consider an alarm system 5)Get to know your neighbors & look out for each other 6)Do not open your door to a stranger without getting identification. This includes police officers. 7)Never indicate you are home alone 8)Do not hide house keys outside where they might be found easily 9)Avoid walking along 10)when walking, chose busy, well-lighted streets. 11)carry a personal alarm 12)call police at 911 whenever you observe suspicious activity 13)consider working with your neighborhood association and forming Block Watches on your street
