Finally we can all breath a little easier. The Plant City Bing Rooming House Restoration Project has finally gained the approval of the City of Plant City.
With the succesful Jazz Supper event we held in June 2005 which raised thousands of dollars of both cash and in-kind funds, the City has now committed to utilize $50,000 in matching Block Grant Funds to supplement the grant awarded by the Historical Division for the State of Florida.
If all goes according to plan the house should be completely restored by the September 2006.
The boarding house served as a hotel for minorities during the period of segregation in Plant City, Florida.
