Island Gymnastics Travel Team Boosters Club, Inc.

Minutes of September 4, 2003 meeting

Opening

The meeting was called to order by Tricia Milliken at 6 pm. Meeting was attended by Tricia Milliken, Phyllis Meyer, John Correa, Joyce Craul, James and Jeanette Eisenhardt, Zulema Pradas (mother attended), Tatiana Stepko and Koleen Bethel.

Opening remarks were made by John Correa. John described his experience with the Booster Club last year for the benefit of the new members.

General Business

Tricia discussed the Booster Clubs income and expenses. Important points were as follows:

Annual dues are $15.

Coach fees and registration run about $100 per girl per meet. Gymnasts must have money in their accounts to be registered for meets.

It was moved to cap the Coach's travel expenses per meet. The amount has not been decided yet.

Last year's leotard cost $180. Most parents felt this was too expensive. Jan suggested that returning gymnasts(if the leo no longer fits) could sell the leotard to new team members for $100 and use the $100 toward purchase of a new leo. Those present voted unanimously to consider a completely new uniform and cap the price at $100.

Treasurer's comments: It is recommended that each gymnast have $400 in their account by January 2004. This should cover the two qualifying meets and State meet. Also, please pay dues ASAP so that we can write a check to IRS and file for our 501(c)(3) tax exemption.

Fundraising

Two car washes are scheduled. Please see Calendar on this website.

Children's Day will be held in October. It was moved to sell sodas with cups and ice for $.50 each and do the basketball toss for $1.00. All present agreed to this. John Correa suggested that we sell some food: chicken tenders, gazpacho (a cold soup) instead of popcorn and snowcones. He will work on the specifics on this later.

John Correa has agreed to host a benefit dinner for the gym team at his restaurant, Cafe Soleil, in December. He can do 2 sittings of 50 seats each. Tickets for the 4 course dinner will be $55 and include gratuity and a glass of wine. Koleen Bethel aggreed to coordinate this effort. More to come on this later.

Sponsor pictures: Pictures are the responsibility of each gymnast's parent. The pictures can be taken to the printer on Flagler. Each poster runs $2.00. Sponsorships can run $25, $50, $100 or more.

Tag days will be scheduled as needed.

The meeting was adjourned at 7:15pm
