Jefferson County Horse Council

All horse owners and those who service the industry need to be represented when decisions are made regarding the present and future needs of the horse industry and the individual horse owner.

Jefferson County Horse Council has provided this representation in Jefferson County, Colorado since 1967. If you live here, you should be a part of it.

AIMS AND PURPOSES

To promote the common interests of horse owners and the horse industry in Jefferson County, Colorado.

To present a unified voice for Colorado horse organizations, saddle clubs, breeders and the individual horse owner.

To inform and protect horse owners from unfavorable zoning regulations and other issues that affect them.

To sponsor educational programs and promote equine research.

To assist Federal, State and County government agencies to establish model ordinances and regulations pertaining to the care and custody of horses within their jurisdiction.

To establish neighborhood arenas and preserve trails for our future generations.

In September of 1967, a group of horse enthusiasts in Jefferson County, Colorado realizing the danger of losing their riding space and the right to keep their horses at or near their homes, took steps to make their voices heard. They formed the Jefferson County Horsemen's Association, now known at the Jefferson County Horse Council, and amassed an impressive list of over 1500 members.

Jefferson County Horse Council (JCHC) has taken steps to insure this organization's continued effectiveness by electing an agressive slate of officers and a board of twenty directors. These folks need input from all concerned horsemen and women.

As a member of JCHC, you will enjoy many informative and educational programs about horse care, horse keeping, trail activities and the companionship of other concerned members of the horse industry.
