Jarrell Farms is a small community of 63 homes, nestled between the communities of Pike Creek and Hockessin. Although most of the homes in our neighborhood were built in the mid-1970s-80s, five new homes were constructed after 2001 on previously empty lots. We boast having a friendly, quiet neighborhood with large yards and mature trees. We are conveniently located near numerous shopping centers, parks, restaurants, churches and businesses.
We have a voluntary Civic Association, which uses membership dues to maintain the sign and landscaping at the neighborhood entrance, to contract snow removal, to provide outreach to residents in need, and to organize community events (e.g., yard sales, Santa visit, etc.).
We are within the Red Clay Consolidated School District, with North Star Elementary School, H.B. DuPont Middle School, and Dickinson High School as our feeder pattern schools. Residents may also choose to send their children to one of Delaware's many private schools or to other schools within the District's Choice program.
Adjacent to our community is the North Star Swim Club, which is an outdoor swimming club open Memorial Day through Labor Day. Memberships are currently available for anyone wanting to enjoy a private recreational pool, with showers & restrooms, baby pool, a snack shack, sand volleyball pit , horseshoe pit and ball field. The Club offers many fun activities and events for members and guests throughout the season (e.g., early swim, mom's club mornings, movie and raft nights, crab feast, dog swim) . North Star Swim Club also has a swim team within the Suburban Swim League for children ages 5-18. The 2009 Swim Team finished the season with a record of 7-1!
