Community takes many forms--starting traditions, planting flowers, walking to the corner store, having picnics in the park, sharing skills, playing together, greeting and learning to know your neighbors, seeking to understand, working to hear our many voices.
Jefferson Park Neighborhood Association came into being in the late 80's after a homeowner's children were threatened in our park. One goal for all of our safety is to continue to partner with police and park security. When we witness questionable activity in the park or neighborhood, it makes a difference when we call. We do have a Neighborhood Watch in place.
Whether you are newer to the neighborhood or have lived here many years, we can all benefit from the rich resources of our city and experiences of one another. Look for more information on resource sharing.
Finally, we enjoy each other, so gathering for block parties, Christmas parties and celebrations in the park are all part of saying, we think we have a great thing going and all are welcome!
