About Joffre Civic

The JACA community is a diverse residential community of 2000 people in 700 households in midtown Memphis. Our neighborhood is a 1930-1940’s era neighborhood that has mature trees, friendly side walks and neighborly front porches.

The neighborhood boundries are Central to LaFayette, Poplar to Highland. Our neighborhood is a proudly diverse neighborhood made up of kinds, renters and owners, families and singles, renovators and new home sites, small and large businesses, students and those already pursuing their careers, young and old. It is the kind of neighborhood most people can only dream of, some have spent their whole life living in, and one that we all should be very proud of.

Becoming an active JACA member is an important way to ensure that we continue to build an excellent quality of life for our families, protect our property values and, neighbor by neighbor, build a better Memphis.

4th of July Picnic and Parade

For those willing to brave the heat, the July 4th Parade and Picnic is the event of the year for Joffre Area Civic Association. Our neighbors are always thought provoking, our children always entertaining, and our judges always challenged. We, the members of JACA, have a commitment to our children, the neighborhood and this country. This event always makes us proud to be Americans and a part of the JACA family. The children are what this day is all about. They treat us to such imaginations with their costumes, decorated bikes, carts, pets, strollers and much, much more. We also have participants throughout the community who help to make it such a special day. The police come to lead off the parade and the Southern Avenue fire station always brings a fire engine for the children to see and enjoy. Yes it’s hot, and yes it’s a little disorganized, but it’s the most cherished and long standing tradition of Joffre Area Civic Association.
