Development began in 1967 for one of Baton Rouge's finest neighborhoods, KENILWORTH SUBDIVISION.Two years later, the first residents moved into their homes. The Parkway, the first filing, was soon followed by the development of Bromley, Daventry, Coventry and Tipperary.
In the summer of 1971, after some sixty families had settled, interest was expressed in the formation of a civic association. Its purpose was the protection of each family's interests while promoting varied civic and social activities. After several meeting outlining organizational structure and appointing temporary officers, the fist formal meeting was held in February 1972. This established the structure of monthly meetings to provide residents a means for confronting problems relating to zoning, drainage, beautification and related issues.
The Kenilworth Civic Association expects that with each resident's continued support, homeowners will be assured of comfort and security while residing in Kenilworth Subdivision.
