The Keystone Civic Association as it is known today was originally called the "Odessa Lake Region Civic Association and was initially founded in the 1930's. At first it was used as a vehicle to promote civic improvements and social benefits. It also promoted the interests, welfare and ideals of the residents located in Northwest Hillsborough County.
Rebirth of the present day Keystone Civic Association occurred in 1948. From the earliest years when borrow bits were of paramount importance the organization has since been involved in the 'Water Wars' and a never ending number of environmental programs. Today, the organization is immersed in the preservation of the 'RURAL' lifestyle that we all have come to relish and enjoy. Our involvement today requires our presence in an ever increasing number of meetings and hearings from rezoning requests, greenways and trails, comprehensive plan updates, and Board of County Commissioners workshops.
Membership is open to anyone that wishes to pay the membership dues. General meetings are held on the 4th Thursday of every month unless otherwise specified and are held at the Keystone Park complex building located on Gunn Highway.
