About our association
HOW WE STARTED
The Klondike Neighborhood Association, Inc. and the Klondike Community Development Corporation were organized in 1996. The organizations mergerd in 1999 and formed the Klondike Neighborhood Association and CDC, Inc. In 2003 it was decided to include the Smokey City community in our Community Development Initiatives and the Klondike Smokey City CDC was formed. Klondike and Smokey City are two of the oldest Africna American communities in the city of Memphis. We are a 501(c)3 organization and all donations are tax exempt.
OUR MISSION
The mission of the Klondike Smokey City CDC is to improve the economic health of the North Memphis Coummunity through community, workforce and family development programs.
OUR VISION
Our vision is to become the leader in Community Development Initiatives in North Memphis.
GOALS
* To bring revitalization and economic growth to our communities.
* To help our neighbors establish and maintain a certian quality of life.
* To help restore the historical status of both communities.
