WHAT IS THE BOARD DOING

Posted in: Kriewald Place

I agree.  I looked out of a 2nd story window and literally saw a backyard with weeds/grass that were taller than the fence. True story, now that is pretty darn high.  That is a breeding ground for all types of wildlife. As for the fences they are crap.  One strong wind and there are down.  I am done with repairing and putting them back up every other day.  I am going chain link.  I can't afford to have my dog running all around the neighbor hood.  The wood fences are no good.

sad to say but people just do not care about there investment.  or there renters and could care less.  untill we as a neighborhood start demanding more this well only get worse.  i am so disapointed, how some home owners can some home to something like that and not be embrassesed.  we all are busy and have things to deal with but some of us get up on our rest day and do maintain our yards.  the fenceline i feel should be acted on asap by the board, i been here 2 years and the fence has looked the same for the 2 years.  thats a shame!!!!!!!

RE backyard lawns... inless it is visible from the streetview, there is nothing we can do.  YOU HOWEVER can contact the management company and request  notice to be sent.  That will open up a file and will be followed until a forcemow is a legal option for us.  I live in a Two story as well... I feel your pain.

Regarding a chainlink style fence...

OK I hate to point out something BUT.... the CCr's which EVERYONE signed at the closing of thier home states in Article 13:

Fences and Fence type walls shall generally be six feet (6') in height above ground level, unless otherwise approved by the Archetectural Control Committee, and the surface of any such fence or wall shall be faced with wood, brick or stone, or some other material approved by the Archetectural Committee.

Regarding the fence that runs along the front of the neighborhood....

#1.. they were built inside the property lines on the property owner, not the "common Area"  So without us getting approval from EVERY Property owner, the HOA cannot replace them... even if we did that, it would take a load of time (6-12 months minimum)... and I am sure that some will STILL not be satisfied.  Our Grafitti clean up folks (all volunteers and whome we ADORE) cleans up tagging when possible at no charge to individual home-owners.  And they are phenominal at what they do.

#2 and most importantly... the money is SIMPLY NOT THERE... if people would pay thier HOA assessments, we would have the money.  But I have to say, the potholes in the streets, and keeping of the easements (so to prevent poisonous snakes from breeding) and other public safety issues will demand the most attention from this board.

simply put, the replacement (which from what I am reading is  a main concern to a single resident) of a fence is not as high a priority as getting our roads fixed, signs replaced, wildlife under control, etc.  I am sorry if I am to blunt.  But it is like I have always said:  Please feel free to attend and vote at,  and/or run at our next general meeting.

This board as already done as much as we can being only 3 months along.  We still have to take out new contracts and reduce spending in other areas.  We are not the Fed government... we live within our means.  We cannot print money that isnt there or take out loans.  When the money becomes available, we will add a line item to the budget for fence repair.  I simply do not know how much clearer I can be without being totally condescending... and you are obviously to smart for me to have to go there.  I hope that you understand.

Key word...investment.  Some people don't get that.  We should boycott until we get results, simple as that.  All that do not see results of the fees should not pay until we get results.  I thought  that I was moving into a neighborhood where people took pride in their environment.  I have personally gone out and cleaned glass from the streets. picked up paper, removed old flyers and so on.

On another note some fool in a red Mustang left tire rubber tire pieces (no kidding) in my cul de sac.  I could not get out fast enough to get the tag #. Many kids play down here you can't skid and do tricks in the cul de sac. Sorry this is not NASCAR.

I am fed up!
