The City of Louisville and the Louisville Division of Police(''LPD'')are in the process of implementing a strategy know as Community Oriented Policing (''COP''). This strategy encourages a police department to work closely with the citizens it polices in order to identify and develop solutions for local crime problems.
An essential element of the COP stategy is the Citizen Advisory Board (''CAB''). In the CAB, commanders of the five police districts in the City of Louisville meet regularly with citizens who either live or work in that district in order to discuss what crime problems concern those citizens and to develop solutions to those problems.
