CRIME REPORT; 03-07-11

 

 Good Morning! Here are some examples of calls answered over the weekend…

 

At about 8:00 P.M. last night, Officer Hall stopped a vehicle in the 5600 block of North 1st for a headlight violation.  Upon contacting the driver, a 41 year old male, a backup officer was called to the stop.  A K-9 officer arrived and the K-9 alerted on the vehicle.  A search of the vehicle showed the subject to be in possession of methamphetamine. He was arrested and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance.  He was also charged with Driving Without a Valid D.L. and Failure to Maintain Financial Responsibility.

 

At about 10:00 P.M. last night, Officer Bryan responded to a call of a disturbance in the 500 block of E.N. 7th.  Witnesses reported that a 26 year old male was choking his wife.  Upon arrival officers could hear the disturbance and contact was made.  The male subject became aggressive toward the officer and shoved her.  He was placed under arrest and charged with Assault Family Violence.

 

Finally at about 11:30 P.M. last night, Officer Merrick responded to a call of a drunk driver.  He located and stopped the vehicle in the 900 block of North 1st.  The vehicle had all four tires blown out and appeared to have struck a tree and light pole.  The driver, a 66 year old female, was extremely intoxicated.  She could not stand to complete the field sobriety tests.  She was placed under arrest and charged with Driving While Intoxicated.

CRIME REPORT; 03-08-11

 

 Good Morning! Here are some examples of calls answered in the past 24 hours…

 

At about 2:00 P.M. yesterday afternoon, Officer Volirakis responded to a theft in progress in the 1100 block of Mulberry.  A witness observed a 50 year old male taking a lawnmower from a backyard.  The subject was located a few blocks away, still pushing the mower.  He was arrested and charged with Theft.

 

At about 3:24 P.M. yesterday afternoon, the Abilene Police Department’s Special Operations Division executed a search warrant in the 1400 block of Shelton.  An 18 year old male was found to be in possession of several different illegal drugs.  He was arrested and charged with two counts of Delivery of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Marijuana.

 

Finally at about 7:10 P.M. last night, Officer Herd responded to a shoplifter call at a south side establishment.  Loss prevention personnel had two subjects detained at the store.  Upon arrival Officer Herd learned that a 24 year old female and a 23 year old female had taken approximately $235 worth of merchandise and did not pay for it.  It was also found that they had removed the tags from these items prior to leaving the store.  They were arrested and charged with Theft and Removal of Writing.

CRIME REPORT; 03-09-11

 

 Good Morning! Here are some examples of calls answered in the past 24 hours…

 

At about 3:35 P.M. yesterday afternoon, Officer Jaimes stopped a vehicle in the 1600 block of Grape for a traffic violation.  A K-9 alerted on the vehicle and the occupants were searched.  A 33 year old passenger was found to be in possession of a useable amount of marijuana. He was also found to have a parole warrant for his arrest.  He was arrested and charged with the warrant and Possession of Marijuana.

 

At about 10:55 P.M. last night, Officer Hutchinson responded to a possible location of a wanted subject in the 2100 block of Amy Lyn.  A 29 year old male was located and found to have a warrant for Burglary of a Habitation.  He was also involved with fleeing after an arrest from an outside agency on March 2nd.  He was arrested and charged with the warrant.

 

Finally at about 1:30 A.M. this morning, Officer Villarreal stopped a vehicle in the 5400 block of Durango for failing to signal a turn.  The driver, a 35 year old male, was found to be intoxicated.  He performed the field sobriety tests and failed.  He was arrested and charged with Driving While Intoxicated.

CRIME REPORT; 03-11-11

 

 Good Morning! Here are some examples of calls answered in the past 24 hours…

 

At about 6:10 P.M. last night, Officer Farley responded to a shoplifter call at a south side establishment.  Loss prevention personnel had a 26 year old female detained for leaving the store with approximately $220 in merchandise that she did not pay for.  She was placed under arrest and charged with Theft.

 

At about 10:30 P.M. last night, Officer Garrett stopped a vehicle in the 2100 block of Cottonwood for an expired registration sticker.  The driver, an 18 year old male, stated that he had never had a driver’s license.  It was also found that he did not have insurance on the vehicle.  He was placed under arrest and charged with Driving without a Driver’s License, Fail to Maintain Financial Responsibility and Expired Registration.

 

Finally at about 11:40 P.M. last night, Officer Martinez responded to a call of an accident in the 1600 block of Pine.  The calling party had observed a vehicle driving the wrong way on Pine and struck a light pole.  Upon arrival, Officer Martinez contacted a 39 year old male who appeared to be intoxicated.  He did perform the field sobriety tests and failed.  After he was read his Miranda rights, he admitted to taking medication prior to driving.  He did provide a blood specimen for testing.  He was placed under arrest and charged with Driving While Intoxicated.
