Crime Report; 3_18_2011

 

 Good Morning! Here is your police report for Friday 3/18/2011…

 

At about 2:30pm yesterday afternoon, agents with the Special Operations Division executed a search warrant at a location in the 2000 block of Sears. A quantity of cocaine and a quantity of methamphetamine was found as a result. A 47 year old male and a 43 year old female were arrested and charged with Manufacture/Deliver Cocaine in a Drug Free Zone and Manufacture/Deliver Methamphetamine in a Drug Free Zone.

 

At about 10:45pm last night, Officer Valentine stopped a car in the 200 block of Grape Street for failing to stop at a red light. A K-9 alerted in the car, and four bags of marijuana were found under a seat. The driver of the car, a 28 year old male was arrested and charged with Class “B” Possession of Marijuana.   

 

Finally, at about 11:45pm last night. Officer Dixon was dispatched to a traffic accident in the 2000 block of S Clack in which a pickup stuck a guard rail, and then left the scene. The vehicle involved was located a couple of blocks down the road, and a man was found lying on the ground near the vehicle. The man was contacted and while he was not injured, he was found to be very intoxicated and mentioned to the officer that he should not have been driving. This 24 year old male was arrested and charged with Driving While Intoxicated with Accident.

CRIME REPORT; 03-21-11

 

 Good Morning! Here are some examples of calls answered over the weekend…

 

At about 1:25 A.M. Sunday morning, Officer Martinez responded to a call of a possible drunk driver.  A description was given of a male subject on a motorcycle leaving a local bar.  The subject was located in the 2500 block of South Clack, but was no longer driving the motorcycle as he had stopped in a parking lot.  Upon contacting the 31 year old male, it was found that he was intoxicated.  He was placed under arrest and charged with Public Intoxication.

 

At about 3:25 P.M. yesterday afternoon, Officer Brown responded to a call of a shoplifter at a south side establishment.  Loss prevention personnel had detained a subject who exited the store without paying for merchandise totaling approximately $250.00.  Upon arrival, a 68 year old male was arrested and charged with Theft.

 

Finally at about 1:20 A.M. this morning, Officer Poynor located a 46 year old male who had a local warrant for his arrest.  The subject was observed driving a vehicle in the 1000 block of North Mockingbird.  The male subject had stopped at a convenience store and was contacted.  He was placed under arrest for the warrants and was found to be in possession of a firearm.  Officers then obtained consent to search the vehicle for any other weapons.  During this search, a useable amount of marijuana was located in the vehicle.  It was later learned that the subject was a convicted felon.  He was arrested and charged with Felony Possession of a Firearm by a Felon, Possession of Marijuana and two local warrants.

CRIME REPORT; 03-22-11

Good Morning! Here are some examples of calls answered in the past 24 hours…

 

At about 3:11 P.M. yesterday afternoon, Officer Janusz stopped a vehicle in the 800 block of Grove for an expired registration sticker.  While speaking with the occupants the officer detected the odor of burnt marijuana.  A 22 year old passenger threw a bag containing marijuana out the window and then ran from the vehicle.  After a short foot pursuit, he was caught and placed under arrest.  He stated that he ran because he had a warrant for his arrest.  He was charged with Possession of Marijuana and a local warrant.

 

At about 7:35 P.M. last night, Officer Bryan was responding to a call for service in the 1600 block of Ambler.  While handling this call, Officer Bryan observed a male subject arrive that she recognized as a wanted person.  Officer Bryan contacted a 20 year old male and asked for his name and ID.  The male subject stated he did not have an ID and gave the officer a false name.  The male subject had his real last name tattooed on his arm.  He was arrested for the warrant.  After the arrest, he was found to be in possession of a useable amount of marijuana.  He was charged with the warrant, Fail to ID and Possession of Marijuana.

 

Finally at about 11:48 P.M. last night, Officers responded to an accident in the 1000 block of Westridge.  Witnesses stated that a Ford Expedition was being driven recklessly and the vehicle had rolled.  Several juvenile subjects had run from the scene.  Officers arrived and learned that the vehicle was stolen.  They began to investigate the scene and learned of a possible address the juveniles ran to.  They contacted individuals at this residence who were not cooperative with the investigation and stated there were no juveniles at the residence.  Officer watched the house and a short while later; the juveniles came out of the house.  They were all detained and a 17 year old male confessed to stealing the vehicle and driving during the accident.  He was placed under arrest and charged with Felony Theft.

CRIME REPORT; 03-23-11

 

 Good Morning! Here are some examples of calls answered in the past 24 hours…

 

At about 2:25 A.M. yesterday morning, Officer Valdez stopped a vehicle in the 2800 block of state for failing to signal a lane change. Upon contacting the occupants it was found that they had prior contacts for drug possession.  The subjects gave consent to search themselves and the vehicle.  During this search, a 33 year old female passenger was found to be in possession of cocaine.  She was arrested and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance.

 

At about 9:40 A.M. yesterday morning, the Abilene Police Department’s Special Operations Division executed a search warrant in the 1400 block of Hollywood Drive.  A 22 year old male was found to be in possession of approximately one pound of marijuana.  He was arrested and charged with felony Possession of Marijuana.

 

Finally at about 5:20 P.M. yesterday afternoon, Officer Walker responded to a call of an intoxicated person in the 1800 block of North 7th.  Witnesses reported that a 24 year old male was passed out on a front porch of a residence.  Upon arrival the officer contacted the subject and found him to be extremely intoxicated.  The subject stated that he knew the resident, however when the officer contacted the resident he stated he did not know the subject.  He was placed under arrest and charged with Public Intoxication.
