Being a Good Neighbor

Pass along to your neighbors and tenants!

The Lantern Village is a nice place to live. We are happy to have you as a neighbor. In order to make your living here more pleasant:
1. Observe Street Cleaning days and hours. The streets are swept weekly so the rubbish does not flow into drains and out to the ocean, polluting our beaches. We need to keep our ocean clean for swimming and set an example for ALL cities and neighborhoods to follow.
2. Refrain from flipping cigarettes off porches or into the streets.
3. Refrain from discarding chewing gum on sidewalks and driveways. Keep the wrapper handy so the gum can be discarded into a trash can later.
4. Never hang laundry over the railings of porches and patios.
5. Keep radio and television volumes low enough so as not to be heard next door.
6. Put trash cans out on the evening before the pick-up and bring them back in right after the collection has taken place on the same day.
7. Drive slowly on the streets in the Lantern Village to protect children playing in the street and the many pedestrians. Back up very slowly, looking both ways.
8. Report vandalism to the police, just as you would want others to respect your property.
9. Never was cars in the driveway or street. This run-off water goes directly to the ocean and causes harmful bacteria to flourish.
10. Never change oil or make car repairs in the driveway or street. This kind of work always leaves residue on the pavement that washes down to the beach.
