Welcome to Las Vistas!

Las Vistas Neighborhood Association (previously known as Western Hills 1), was first formed in 1989 after a split from its prior union with the neighboring Western Hills 2 Neighborhood.

We immediately began the process of petitioning the community to put in street lights in what was a very high crime neighborhood. The street lights were approved and we became the largest petition district up to that date in the City of Tucson, with overwhelming homeowner support for paying for the street light installation.

In 1993, the boundaries of the association were expanded to include the Parkside area (another adjacent neighborhood), and all the lands south of Western Hills 1 to Ajo Rd. At that time, we renamed the association "Las Vistas"

The association has worked on many projects over the years, including helping the police to cut crime, beautification of James Thomas Park, encouraging local soccer leagues, working on street safety issues (including installation of a crosswalk streetlight in front of the Boy's and Girl's Club), and bringing City services to those in need in the area.

Our boundaries were once again expanded in October, 2004 to include a large industrial area to the East of our neighborhood. We welcome those businesses on board and hope to have a mutually beneficial relationship with our newest members.

We also publish a monthly neighborhood newsletter which is delivered to over 1000 neighborhood homes.
