CLAIRE ROOP
Claire Roop is the executive director of the Lennie Marie Tolliver Alternative Care Center. Roop has many years of experience as a registered nurse. She has extensive experience in the long-term care service network as an program manager in the Department of Human Services’ (DHS) Non-Technical Care Program (NTMC). Since retiring from DHS in 2004, Roop has been actively involved in the community as a volunteer with “Free To Live” and the “Humane Society”. Roop is responsible for day-to-day operation of the center which provides a variety of medical and social services. “I want to ensure center participants and their families receive quality services in a caring environment outside their own homes,” she said. The center is a place to go for adults who can’t stay home by themselves during the day while their families go to work, run errands or take a break.
The center was founded in 1984 by the Oklahoma County Chapter of the National Association of Social Workers.
