?“We Lift As We Climb?”
First Class Neighbors
Communities like ours, where the people actually know their neighbors, hardly exist in the world today. Ask people from other neighborhoods how long they have known their neighbors. If they know them at all, they will tell you not for very long. In our neighborhood, the families are proud community staples that ?“have been here,?” working hard, paying taxes, and voting for generations. The names are just as familiar as the faces. The time is now to build on this foundation of strong families that has defined us, and allowed us endure over the years, even through the destruction of hurricanes.
We have been Blessed
In our community the people have always represented the true value. Although we have been blessed with beautiful parks, historic churches, schools, and homes, and a unique history, it is the beautiful, first class people that make our community elite. Throughout the years, property values have gone up and down, but as long as the families here are strong, the value of our community will continue to increase.
Our Community Needs a Unified Voice
The Truth is, we are at a turning point in history. Slidell is growing at a phenomenal rate, changing all around us. Ordinances are being created everyday that will surely affect our families; therefore, it is crucial that we have a unified voice to express our issues and concerns about what goes on, in and around our community. Let us ensure that we are included in the decision making. Although we cannot stop so-called ?“progress,?” we can come together as a community to try to preserve all those beautiful things that have made our neighborhood a blessed place to live.
We Need a Neighborhood Association
A neighborhood association is a group of residents who meet regularly to accomplish neighborhood goals, namely to enhance and preserve the community. It is open to all residents, including homeowners, renters, apartment residents, business owners, school and church officials. Meetings may be held twice a year, once a quarter, or monthly. In addition to keeping the people connected, neighborhood associations also facilitate communication between residents and local government officials, help organize volunteers for community projects, plan community events, and organize improvement efforts. Represent your family, business, church, or organization by joining our neighborhood association.
