The Lincoln Park Community is an historic neighborhood located in the heart of Olde Towne Slidell. Numerous subdivisions such as Prevost, Pine Park Place, Roosevelt, and Inererity, to name a few, comprise the neighborhood referred to as the Lincoln Park Community. Stimulated by the construction of the railroad, the area, originally called Maize Quarters, quickly became a hub for skilled craftmen from Mississippi, New Orleans, and other parts of the parish. These pioneers sought work stimulated by the construction of the railroad in the late 1800s. It was their hard efforts, faith in God, and strong family values that helped to establish Maize Quarters as a wonderful place to live in Slidell.
