That is interesting, but I feel there is movement and hopefully the Preservation Society meeting tomorrow will help as well as scheduling a meeting with some key parties underway.

How about a program to have unemployed carpenters, contractors, etc work together with young students as apprentices to learn about historic buildings and maybe get a National Preservation Trust grant to model for the US as well?

That's a very good and interesting idea......I think as the community comes together - there will be many opportunities and ideas to help our City and nurture its history.
