16th Street Mall Extension Service. . .Seeing is Believing!
With all the special events this season, the old parking
problem keeps appearing in new places. On June 14, the
Transportation Committee helped plan a presentation of one
solution: the 16th Street Mall Extension Service.
Architects Steve Chucovich of Architecture Denver and Todd
Johnson of Design Workshop showed attendees at Wynkoop
Brewing Co. graphics of this $26 million construction
project that's scheduled to be completed in Spring, 2001.
With two-way streets, distinct lighting and sidewalks as
wide as 20 feet, this extension promises to be a vital part
of LoDo, encouraging public transit while protecting the
original scale and flavor of the area.
