Naomi asked, "what would the grant mean to the neighborhood?" The grant, if obtained, is strictly money given to us as a community with no strings attached -- IF we qualify -- and IF we can SHOW there is enough interest in our community, and not just a few people. So please, have your friends and neighbors reply to this message. This is something we can show the city.
As far as an association fee -- NO -- we are NOT and never will be or have a Homeowners Association.
You asked also, "How would that affect the neighbors financially?" The only way it will affect us is IF the grant money isn't enough and we might want to pay a small amount ($10-20) out of our own pockets or have some kind of a fund raiser to "finish out the rest." The other option is to do one-sign-at-a-time, and apply for the grant again next year -- because you can only apply for the $2,500 PRIDE Grant one time per year. Let me hear what YOU want to do.
By the way, if anyone KNOWS of a commercial sign person -- please contact them or me and we can get more quotes. I have contacted one already and am waiting for a reply as to cost.
