Safety Hint...

I have heat/movement activate lights all around my house. Above the garage, the front door, side door, and also on my covered patio. Sometimes they are a pain when they go off for ''no reason'', but I feel so much more secure knowing that they are working.

I remember at one of our own block watch meetings with the police, they mentioned that montion detector lights are a big deterrent to thieves, peeping toms, gangs, grafitti artists, etc.

Home Depot and other stores have them in may styles to fit any decor, and they are worth the time and investment to put on your homes.

Crime in Marlborough Mesa

Hi Alma,
Thanks for the info. Is the amount of crime we've been having normal for a neighborhood this size? It feels like we've been targeted as easy pickins or something. I'm home with my three kids and I'm really nervous. We have a dog but I'm tempted to get a home security system. The motion lights sound good, too. We've been targeted twice since we moved here. They haven't come into our home yet, but . . . What do the police say about our statistics? Also, have they considered patroling our neighborhood a little more often? I never see a cop car ''making the rounds.'' I'm not trying to be negative toward the police, especially since this might be normal for any neighborhood. But, it seems like a lot of crime for one neighborhood. That last episode with the guy on Obispo could have been rape or worse. I'm mostly mad that we can't let the cool air in for fear of letting somet.0hing else in!!
