FALL YARD WASTE COLLECTION

Jan 22, 2005

Sanitation crews are ready to collect fallen leaves and other yard waste on our scheduled day. Here are some helpful guidlines to help keep the clean-up running smoothly: Avoid disposing of yard waste in creeks and storm water drains because yard waste in the storm drainage system is often the cause of flooding or damage to the storm drainage system. The debris has flowed downsteam and blocked culverts, pipes and/or drains.

Leaves should be placed in clear plastic bags or cans and the tops should be open so they can see what is inside.

Cans or plastsic bags should not weigh more than 75 pounds each. Excessive amounts of yard waste will require more than one collection day.

If you use cans or containers for your leaves leave them uncovered and do not place any other trash in the same container.
