In the spring of 2004, a developer proposed a high-density townhome development in the last undeveloped parcel within our mature neighborhood of single-family homes and duplexes. Due to a pre-existing PUD, the developer is attempting to ignore community concerns and ramrod through their plans without the required council oversite. This is still going on...it's an agenda item on the June 24 Planning Commission meeting.
We intend to fight and win. This site ultimately will be developed, but it cannot be developed in a hasty or greedy manner that is a slap in the face to the community and in violation of the rules, guidelines and laws of the Metro Planning Commission and Metro Zoning Code.
We hope to report success in this fight. After that, we intend to stay active in addressing the issues that preserve and enhance the quality of life in this very special corner of Nashville.
