Mrs. Riley researched, developed and implemented the award-winning Garland Police Volunteer Program. In the ten years since it?’s inception, the program has grown to be one of the largest law-enforcement volunteer programs in the state of Texas and has received awards at the local, state and national level. Mrs. Riley has been recognized by the U.S. Justice Department as an authority on volunteers in law enforcement and is currently named on their resource list. Her expertise in this area has been utilized by many law enforcement agencies throughout the country. She has served as a presenter at many conferences including the Texas Governor?’s Conference on Volunteerism and the International Conference for Volunteer Administration. Her friendly, knowledgeable manner of speaking makes her a much sought-after guest speaker and trainer on the subjects of law enforcement volunteers, line of duty death response, community outreach and civilian/sworn personnel issues.
