Never take one chance

Christine: I agree with you when you say one should never take a chance with your kids' saftey even if there is a millionth of a chance of something happening. This is the best statement I have heard in a long time. My kids are older now and I am really distressed by the carelessness shown by some parents. (My own family included). It should be made clear from the beginning of whatever acitivity your child participates in that you have strict boudaries. Let the leaders know it is not personal, you take this precaution with everyone and then no one will be offended. At my church every child care worker, class teacher, etc. is now asked to consent to a background check. They acutally did weed out a person by doing this. We cannot un-do harm to our child ren but we can limit the occurances by being careful and yes, always being suspicious. My personal view is that the proliferation of pornography has led to a new, darker, and more dangerous form; child pornography. The popular culture plays into this too. That is why Britney Spears and the like have been so popular, it is not the little kids. Young girls' clothing is another area. At one time the media portrayed women who wore fake fur and lacy clothing as hookers, now little 8 year olds wear this stuff. We have to be honest about what is happening.

Christine Is Not Paranoid

All mothers worry about their children. When my son was five years old I took him with me to the ladies room. Some screwy woman went to the manager of the store because she said a boy shouldn't be in there. The manager, a man, looked at her like she was crazy and told me to go continue my shopping. Another example: My son was an alter boy. Before he went his first day, I talked to him about how just because a man was a priest doesn't give him the right to touch you and if that happened, to tell me right away. I told them that about everyone they came in contact with, including family members. Overprotective? Yes. But it was my job to protect them and though the majority of people working with children are okay, you never know where that one pervert is. Most of the time they look like you and me. They don't walk around wearing a sign announcing what they are.

is CHRISTine tooting her own horn and trying to make the Joe P.'s look as if they let their families down because they don't measure up to CHRISTines, what a good father should do if he truely cares for his family and look at me the female,I go the extra mile and do everything right (ST.CHRISTine!)

I agree with both postings!

But,I'm sick and tired of all the B.S. stories and hey everyone,look at me, role-model CHRISTine. I do this,I did that ETC.

Channel 4 news made a valid statement and continued with follow ups as to what's going on and what we should do regarding these type individuals.

I DIDN''T SEE OR HEAR CH#4 CALLING OR ASKING FOR CHRISTines ADVICE.

I believe one would be better off following the advice of CH#4 experts.
