"Mr. Jeff Banks of Whipps Bend Road requested permission to speak and is concerned about so many Bellemeade lots are still covered with debris from the ice storm. He related how he abided by the rules and paid for his yeard to be cleaned up and debris bundled in 4 foot lengths. Many of his neighbors have huge logs in the street. He feels that the city should send them letter of complaint. He wondered if the city could spend 25 thousand to hire a company to come in and clean it up.
There was a lot of discussion!"

I excerpted (copied and pasted) the above comment from Mr.Odom-Groh's comments about the most recent City Commission meeting. First, kudos to Mr. Banks for cleaning up his yard at his own expense.  Going further, yes, it does not look good to see the debris piled in yards.   And looking at some of the PILES, I wonder if some neighbors arenot aware of the rules for pick-up by both Metro or Bellemeade.  It appears that a large number do not seem to meet the specs.

But, even more alarming, in walking the neighbor hood, I have seen neatly cut and bundled debris that is still in yards.  Those are NOT piles; they are not tree trunks too big for one man to move; they are not ever-growing piles nourished by spring trimming;  they are bundles, bundles cut to specifications and snuggly tied and place safely just off the street that residents, ambulances, police cars, and fire trucks have to traverse.

Those nearly immaculate bundles have been sitting there for weeks just begging to be picked up.  Why are they still there?
