Montgomery County Cultural Foundation/Old Jail Museum

Old Jail ''Discovered''

Feb 08, 2002

EUREKA!
.
What we have known all along has somehow gotten the attention of the Discovery Channel?…Yes! The Old Jail Museum will get a chance to show the world its unique rotary cells and the sheriffs?’ residence.

It all started with a phone call from Jenny Paschall, who along with her husband, Ron Lyon, produces the ?“Would You Believe It??” show on the Discovery channel. (Their company, Big Cat Productions, also produces ?“Beyond Belief?” for Nickelodeon, ?“Simply Unbelievable?” for the Travel Channel and ABC TV?’s ?“Ripley?’s Believe Or Not?”.) They find strange and different places for programs to be filmed and shown to the wide audience of ?“Discovery?” buffs. Later, when they both visited and interviewed Tamara, it was a cinch?…they fell in love with the place (just about everyone does).

They also toured the General Lew Wallace Study and Ben Hur Museum and are planning on filming there. (Hurray for Montgomery County and her museums!)

Both museums (plus possible other sites in Montgomery County) will be filmed sometime during the summer. We will keep you informed as progress is made.
