City of Moorland

Light Up Moorland '09

Our first annual citywide Christmas decorating contest was organized by the Moorland BlockWatch Group.  The Lyndon Fire Dept. was on hand Saturday, December 19th to judge 13 homes that paid the $10 entry fee to participate.  Three firemen did the judging and said it was tough to choose since everyone made such a great effort, however, there had to be a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winner and here they are:

1st Place Winner - 1808 Brentmoor Ln.      Awarded 60% of total entrance fees collectedIMG_2270.JPG

2nd Place Winner - 1906 Claremoor Dr.   Awarded 30% of total entrance fees collected

Congratulations to all the winners and a big thank you to all who participated.  The Moorland BlockWatch Group encourages everyone to take part next year just for the fun of it, but also the more participants we have, the more cash you stand to win.  We also want to recognize Commissioner Wendy Yates for all her hard work organizing this event and making the signs. Let's make next year's competition even bigger and brighter!
