ABOUT MPCA:

The Morris Park Community Association (MPCA) is a non-profit organization which has dedicated more than 30 years of service to the Morris Park Community of the Bronx. With the support of its members, the MPCA has preserved the integrity and safety of their community by patroling the community; addressing complaints, concerns and needs within the community, and providing an outlet for community events.

THE COMMITTEES

We not only welcome your membership, but your time. With a wide variety of committees to be active in, you can also make a difference in your community by actively choosing to participate in one.


the committees....
Sanitation - This committes checks the neighborhood at least once a week for pot holes, graffiti, dumping...All quality of life issues which affect our community. A report is given to the Planning Board and the Association, all complaints are followed up until completed. The Chairman of this Committee is Mark Anthony.

Parade - This committee runs the Columbus Day Parade! They also provide a quarterly financial report.
The Chairman of this Committee is Tony.

Patrol - This committee organizes and dispatches drivers to patrol the neighborhood. Our patrols keep our neighborhoods safe, deter crime and report incidences to first responders.
The Chairman of this Committee is Rob.

Party - This committee organizes and is responsible for the hall rental and work at the parties. They also provide a quarterly financial report. The Chairman of this Committee is Gabriel.

Senior Citizens - This committee heads the MPCA senior program and is responsible for organizing trips and activities. They also provide a quarterly financial report. The Chairman of this Committee are Angi and Gloria.

Membership - This committee reaches out to the community to let them know what we do and invite new members to our organziation. They also provide a quarterly financial report.
The Chairman of this Committee are Sal and Janet.

Journal - This committee is responsible for collecting journal ads and putting together the MPCA journal.
The Chairman of this Committee is Henry.

Dance - This committee is responsible for raffle tickets, dinner tickets and invitations to MPCA dances.

Youth - This committee is revising Bed Time Stories program. They also report about youth programs in the community. The Chairman of this Committee is Nick.

Economic Development - This committee deals with housing issues, illegal dwellings, health and building violations. The Chairman of this Committee is Joe.

-Safety patrol of the neighborhood, which are the “eyes and ears” of the police department.

-Your organization is our voice in community matters. (Something as simple as a missing stop sign to an important zoning change.)

-We are your liaison to every City Agency.

-A full slate of services for our seniors which include recreational and educational activities.

- Members have access to the use of MPCA to rent for parties or meetings at a reasonable fee.

-Some members serve on Community Board #11, School Board #11, and the many Hospital Boards.

-We are a member of the Northeast Bronx Coalition which is comprised of 45 Civic and Merchant Group - making our voice even louder.

- Provide an annual Santa Claus visit for our neighborhood children with a free gift for each child.

-Assist in homeowner and landlord/tenant disputes.

-Provide transportation to and from polls at election time.

-Organize social gatherings such as Las Vegas Nights, Annual Dinner-Dance, Christmas Party, Weekly Meetings, Picnics, etc…

- A general membership meeting every Wednesday at 7:30p.m. Members of the 49th Precinct are in attendance to answer any of your questions and concerns.

Morris Park Community Association annual dues are $20.00
and include membership from January 1 through December 31st.
