HISTORY

North Highlandtown Community Association was founded in August 1998 by Mr. Wayne Kraft to provide residents in the neighborhood an opportunity to join together and assist each other in improving the community. The original boundaries of the Association (Curley Street to Decker Ave. and Monument to Jefferson) were extended to include the 400 block of Curley in 1999 and the 2900-3000 blocks of Monument St in 2001. The community is comprised of over 400 residences and 5 small businesses including a bank. Homes are predominantly brick row homes constructed in the early 1900s.

North Highlandtown Community Association was incorporated in 1999 and recieved IRS tax exempt status 501(c)3 in early 2000.

LEADERSHIP

The Association is lead by the President, Vice President and Secretary/Treasurer. A Board of Directors provides guidance in forming policy and planning for the Association. Officers and Directors are elected annually and those positions are open to the membership.

One of the attractions of our neighborhood is the proximity to Ellwood Park. This green space provides recreational activities to all ages. Membership

Membership in the North Highlandtown Community Association, Inc. is open to all residents in the association area. Dues are $2.00 per year per household.
