New Center North Neighbors (NCNN) is a community organization that was organized in 1989 to take action by confronting problems, improving the quality of life and making the neighborhood a place where people will be proud to live.
Early activities mainly consisted of cleaning vacant lots, and getting abandon houses boarded up or torn down.
While we continue the activities of those early days we have also established a park on Philadelphia, built a playground on Hazelwood, participated in the citywide Angel’s Night patrol and worked to remove negative activities from the neighborhood.
Today we have a more pro-active plan for the neighborhood.
1. Improve the appearance and cleanliness of our neighborhood
2. Eliminate situations that affect the safety of residents and businesses in our neighborhood
3. Work to encourage more family home ownership in our neighborhood
4. Develop alliances that are beneficial to our neighborhood
5. Promote community among the residents and businesses in our neighborhood
