The New Zion Community Development Foundation, Inc. (NZCDF) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit community development organization that was formed by the New Zion Baptist Church in 1998. The church itself has a long-standing commitment (74+ years)of capacity-building and empowerment in the Park DuValle community.

The Mission: The NZCDF is a not-for profit community development corporation, formed by the New Zion Baptist Church for the purpose of providing education, economic and physical programing, development and empowerment to the residents of the Park DuValle and surrounding neighborhoods. With our primary focus on the education of our children (5 - 18 years of age) and their families,empowering them with day to day tools needed to face and overcome the many obstacles that will hinder their success in school, work, and the community because it is in the best interest of our total society.
We accomplish our mission by developing and operating programs to meet needs that have been found in the community.
1. REACHING FOR EXCELLENCE After-School & Summer Programs that provide a safe-haven, a snack & meal, help with homework, Every 1 Reads certified site; User of Kids trax program
Summer Youth Program 7-11 Yrs of age $ 55.00 per week, now enrolling session begins 06/04/2007 enrollment fee $20.00 (non refundable) includes Tee Shirt.

2. "Stop typing with 2 Fingers" Teaching kids the correct use of the computer key board, i.e. hand positioning, keystroke and numerical key pad
4. Hope Dollar Store-Clothing can be purchased for every member of the family. Mon. & Wed. 10am to 2:30pm. Fridays, 10am to 5pm. *Fridays are $1.00 a garbage bag day.
5. Aerobic Exercises (Low Impact).
For ages 18 and up. Mon.,Tue., and Thur. 5:45 to 6:45pm and
Line Dancing Every Tuesday 6:00p-7:00p
6. Young Life Ministries.
Supporting kids through turbulent teenage years.
Groups meet on Mondays 7:00p
7. The Rose Room. (Named in rememberance of Mrs. Evelyn "Rose" Jackson, served as principal for over 40 years)
The Room seats up to 250 people and is available for rental. Hold your next community meeting family reunions, special occasions, Repass, etc.
Kitchen facility, long tables, round tables, chairs and podium available
