C O M M U N I C A T I O N:
Thank you for taking a moment to read this, the revitalized, "Newtown Village NewsLetter". There is considerable effort that goes into this project and any offers to help with articles, ideas or even comments,(good or bad) will certainly be appreciated and considered. The mission of this newsletter is to communicate on a common ground with all neighbors in our community, with the intent of improving the quality of living for all. Simply stated, this is for you. I have lived in our community for approximately seven years and have made friends in my row as well as on other streets. Having moved here from a community where most people would not even return a courtesy, "good morning/day/evening", I must say that it is refreshing to live where people do interact not just verbally but help one another out in more trying times. Some examples are from as most recently as a couple of months ago after the hurricane damaged more than a few trees. Many people came together to help neighbors with the clean up. It was nice to see. It was interesting to note how many people were outside just talking with one another till the electric power came back on. Ask yourself, "Why don't I take more time to interact with those who live around me if even for a few minutes?" Most would agree that was a difficult day but it was really nice to see our neighbors and even meet a few that we had not really gotten to know before. Another example was after last winter's crippling snowstorm, many people were out not just shoveling their driveway but helping other neighbors in their row and even down the street further. On Palmerston Ct, there was even a small block party! It is often the little things in life that escape our attention in our too busy lives, sun rises, sun sets, refreshing breezes, or just those missed opportunities when passing our neighbors to say, "Hi". Take a moment to appreciate our community and pay attention to one of those "little things in life" and as a community you will witness an improvement in the quality of life.
