I just wanted to let anyone know that may read these discussions, that we attended our first HOA meeting since taking ownership to one of the Northpointe II units.
I sent an email to the email address provided, and took a copy in case it had not been received and/or read. When we arrived at the meeting, I was a bit surprised that not only had it been received and read, but a copy was on hand for discussion.
My husband and I had a very fair opportunity to speak to the board and address our issues in person. Not only were several of our issues addressed with remedy timeframes, but I was also provided a copy of the Budget and current expenses.
I will be reviewing this information in the very near future, and MAY suggest ways we might be able to improve, or maybe not. However, there is something I would like to remind all other owners:
Whether we are owner occupants, or landlords, it is our responsibility to maintain the units and common areas if we are to maintain the integrity of our investments. Please remind your youngsters (and possibly your tenants for their youngsters) that vandalism and/or destruction of any part of our community, including sprinkler heads, costs us all more money. In addition, if we all pay our dues timely when due, we can reduce and/or eliminate the additional expense of legal fees and the like.
If anyone has any comments to the foregoing, I will be checking the discussion board frequently.
I hope everyone has a happy end of summer, and remember: While driving, be sure to watch those kids returning to school -- they're fast, and may not be watching for us!
