Welcome
Simply, it is a group of people who have gotten together to crochet squares which are then assembled into afghans for people living with HIV/AIDS. Once the afghans are completed they will be presented as Christmas Gifts.
Northwinds Afghan Project (N.A.P.) was founded in November 2003 by Dakota Andrews. It was first pitched as a group project idea to a local Oklahoma crochet club, OKCrochet. Since then, NAP has grown to involve people from outside Oklahoma. Currently, NAP Volunteers are from Oklahoma, Texas, New Hampshire, Arizona, Canada, Germany and Tasmania.
Local Oklahoma HIV/AIDS Organizations have been proud to help with the project.
RAIN Oklahoma, which provides care teams and transportation to people living with HIV/AIDS, has offered their offices as a drop off point for donations. RAIN OK also has helped with spreading the word about the project by mentioning the NAP in their newsletter, RAIN Spout.
CarePoint, Inc., which provides a wide variety of services, including case management and housing assistance to people living with HIV/AIDS also offered their offices as a drop off point for donations to the NAP.
