Minutes of March 8, 2007 ?– The minutes were read and corrections noted. Karen Rooney moved to approve the minutes with the stated corrections, and Kathryn Neiswender seconded. The minutes were approved. Treasurer?’s Report ?– The Association has $3,080 with report of one expenditure of $14 for a check order. Two other expenditures were approved by the board throughout the meeting. The first utility bill that included a $22 connect fee and totaling $50.73 was approved for payment, and the first cutting of the Hickory Creek Road right-of-way was approved for $300. Treasurer, Fern Richey asked the board members to provide her with information to prepare an annual budget. She suggested that this budget be presented at the April 17 general meeting. The board approved the preparation of a proposed budget. Report on the Sprinkler System ?– John Miller reported that the electric and water meters have been restored and are operating. Lance Folse, of North Texas Lush Lawn Sprinklers has been unable to get to the repair of the sprinkler system as yet. John Miller mentioned that the meter is being billed as a commercial meter and not a residential meter. Susan Croff suggested that the sprinkler system be converted to a drip or soaker hose system. Through discussion, it was determined that this would not be possible as it would have to tie into the piping that goes under Montecito Drive. Kathryn Neiswender has written correspondence to the two owners on the Almonte entrance to see if we can devise a solution for the watering on Almonte. Hickory Creek Mowing ?– John Miller found a person that will cut the grass for $300 a cut. The amount might be adjusted and reviewed after the first cutting. This would be cutting only, and not include trimming or weed eating. John moved, and Karen seconded that the first mowing needed to take place in the April. For budgetary purposes, it was determined that mowing should be scheduled 6 times to supplement the City schedule of twice a year. This would total $1800 a year at the current quote. Hospitality ?– Iti Nwiba ?– The first annual OMNA Easter Egg hunt was a success and everyone attending had a good time. There were 12 neighborhood children that participated in the event. Approximately 600 eggs were prepared, and prize eggs for each age level contained Sacagawea dollars, money and toys. All preparation and materials were supplied by the sub-committee that consisted of Iti Nwiba, Kathryn Neiswender, Sara Marotto, Fern Richey and Susan Croff. Beautification ?– Karen Rooney ?– Karen reported that a four foot area around the monuments at both entrances had been dug to loosen the soil and grass and weeds removed. Karen also proposed that a boarder needed to be used to both provide a barrier for weeds and grass, and to hold in soil treatment and mulch. She has found a natural +z`1to lay one layer of the stone would be $400. After discussion as to concerns on costs and the need to get started on the project, John suggested and Karen agreed to bring the plan before the general meeting on April 17th. Historical ?– Kathryn Neiswender - Kathryn has taken ?“before pictures of the entrances and will continue to take pictures as the project progresses.
