Hello everyone. As we have survived our 43rd day of triple digit weather we are happy to inform you that your bank account at North Star Bank(Teasley Branch) has been established. Your current balance is $2845.00. Interestingly, it wes the only bank that would let us set up an account without by laws. Our thanks goes to Fern who has maintained the bookkeeping and investigated all aspects of accounting for the asociation. You'll be happy to know that the IRS does not require a form for amounts under $5000.00 for NFP but Fern plans to file anyway just to protect the members. Thanks also to John Miller, Charlie Alday and Fern Richey for getting this important job completed. Our goal to beautify the front entry ways has been slowed not only by the heat but also because of concerns surrounding one of our large monuments which has separated from the ground due to the lack of water. Repair and a sprinkling system are in order. New plants, even drought tolerant varieties, need water for establishment. Plans will be submitted and a licensed irrigation specialist has to come and give an estimate of the system needed to complete what already exists and to determine whether or not the existing system needs any repair. In addition the ramifications of extending the system the length of our development will be determined. And a permit would have to be pulled. All estimates will be available at our next general meeting The water meter can be turned on at any time and the electric meter will be turned on when the system is completed. The system may be able to be completed with some volunteer help once the permit is pulled and professional irrigation speclialist has made the determinations. Then repair of the monuments, both those leaning and those with foundation problems will take place upon receipt of estimates. Tentatively our first planting date would occur the end of October (the suggested fall planting time.) and at the latest the Spring planting time. We are still aiming towards native plants which require less water and will keep our watering expense low. If there are any licensed irrigators in the community that would like to submit a bid, or if you know of someone who completed a job for you please e-mail Fern Richey at druggistwife@verizon.net. We will have list and books containing ideal plant material for this area for your perusal at our next general meeting. It is our goal to host our first election in October. We wish to thank all those involved in constructing our by laws Charlie, Fern, Sara, Bill, Kathryn, Nita and John. Additional thanks goes out to all of you who submitted your input to Charlie Alday, as always with your ideas, our bylaws will be truly reflective of our community. If anyone needs help accessng the website please contact Kathryn Neiswender, kandjbackyard@charter.net and she'll be happy to assist you. While our new site presently is being updated, information from the general larger community is helpful. Did you know you can post your garage sale on the site? If you are interested in being a website coordinator (it's quite simple.) Just sign in and request access. "Neighborhood Links" will get you started. Also to be scheduled at the next meeting is a tree trimming party. The low growing trees make it hazardous for our volunteer mowers. Thanks again to all of you who have supported us and we look forward to seeing you at our next meeting September 25, 7:00P.M. at 1516 Buena Vista Dr. (the home of Ray and Susan Croff.) 940-390-2824.The August Birthdays: Chana Harrison, Julie Corchia and Jim Neiswender, enjoying his big 6-0. September birthdays are Iti Nwiba and Kathryn Neiswender also celebrating her big 60. Let us know if we missed your important date and please share any other announcements you might have.
