Louisville Olmsted Parks Conservancy's mission is to restore, enhance and preserve one of Louisville?’s most valued treasures, the historic Olmsted Parks and Parkways.
Ours is the last park system designed by Frederick Law Olmsted, the ''Father of American Landscape Architecture'', and one of only five such systems across the country. Known nationwide as the definitive park system of his career, it stands today as one the best-preserved of his works, reflecting Olmsted's mature vision and his greatest achievement in purely scenic park design.
For Louisvillians, these parks are points of reference and are often referred to as Louisville's Emerald Necklace, inexorably tied to personal and neighborhood identity.
