Oram Court is located in the heart of Lakewood, an area in east Dallas, Texas, bordering White Rock Lake. The neighborhood was originally part of East Dallas, an incorporated town which was annexed into Dallas in 1889.
We are one block from the head of the Swiss Avenue Historic Distric where many turn of the century prairie-style homes modeled after those of Frank Lloyd Wright's architecture have been renovated. We are within walking distance of the historic Lakewood Theatre and original Lakewood library. Shopping and restaurants are also within walking distance to the west and east of the complex. In 1999 Lakewood was rated the best place to live in the metroplex if you were carless by the Dallas Observer.
Oram Court is within the borders of the Edgemont Park Neighborhood Association which covers the south side of Richmond Avenue, Prospect and Oram streets between Skillman and Abrams. Several owners of units within the condo association have also signed up to petition for an Edgemont Park Conservation District to protect the architecture of the neighborhood. The Association was formed in March of 1997 when a majority of the units were sold by Avondale Limited Partnership to individual homeowners. Prior to the renovation in 1996 and subsequent sale in 1997, the complex had been apartments. The condominiums were originally offered in 1996 by Ebby Halliday with Ruth Jaubert as the listing agent.
There are twenty units in the complex, with four floor plans: 2 bedroom/1.5 bath/2 story, 1 bedroom/study/1.5 bath/2 story, 1 bedroom/1.5 bath/2 story and 1 bedroom/1 bath/1 story.
