Many people have asked how the percentages of ownership for a unit are calculated because they do not seem consistent between similar units. These percentages were allotted by the Dallas Central Appraisal District when the property was built. Special Assessments and Percentage of Ownership

Special assessments to each unit are calculated by taking the percentage of ownership times the total assessment amount. To find the monthly amount owed, divide by the number of months the assessment spans. The shorted the span, the higher the monthly amount.
