The Orange Coast California Council of Beta Sigma Phi & Beta Sigma Phi International, the largest Greek-letter women?’s friendship organization, is proud to announce their 75th anniversary. Beta Sigma Phi was started during the depression by Walter W. Ross. His goal was to provide women with a social, cultural and intellectual outlet.
Since its founding in 1931, Beta Sigma Phi, a non-academic, non-sectarian, non-political sorority, has grown to be an International organization, the largest of its kind in the world, with up to 250,000 members, 12,500 chapters spanning 23 countries. We have over 600 chapters just in the State of California.
It was created for women in search of cultural, social and civic activities, and it provided its members the opportunity to develop inspiring friendships.
Beta Sigma Phi has been recognized internationally for its philanthropic work, but the main goal of the organization is life, learning and friendship for its members. Many members will tell you that being a Beta Sigma Phi is a way of life. It enriches, it fulfills, and the friendships made are invaluable.
Remember, the definition of sorority is simply a sisterhood. Beta Sigma Phi is a group of women coming together for life, learning, and friendship.
If you are a member of Beta Sigma Phi, active or inactive, that has moved to the Southern California area and you would like to find a chapter, please contact us and send us your information. Someone will contact you within the week, and we look forward to meeting you!
