PACT

PACT Mission

The mission of People for Action and Community Togetherness is to enrich the mind, body and spirit of the youth in New London County. Our goal is to develop positive values, nurture high self-esteem, and promote teamwork. We will accomplish this by providing quality community-based programs in which participants challenge themselves physically and mentally. We also support and sponsor other programs with similar philosophies.

About PACT

PACT is a community-based organization formed to curb youth violence in New London and surrounding towns. PACT is recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Youth activities and programs are developed and implemented by a volunteer staff that has been managing PACT since 1993.

PACT Activities

PACT has performed numerous activites since inception to fulfill its mission statement. There have been essay contests for local youth on curbing youth violence, and anti-drug poster contests in which the winners were awarded savings bonds. PACT has also sponsored ''Hook a Kid on Golf'' clinics and volleyball camps. To date, PACT has contributed to Grasso Tech, Ledyard, Stonington, and Fitch High School drug and alcohol-free graduation parties, and will continue to support similar activities in 2005.

PACT has also held children's variety shows, and conducted raffles to fund activities which promote PACT's mission statement.
