Hijacking of Republican Ideals

Lisa,

Yes, there are many people concerned about hijacking. Many excellent area Republicans are concerned about the potential hijacking of the Republican name, tradition and ideals for use in the Holy Crusade against area elected officials.

I believe that officer qualifications would help to address the fear of area Republicans. No one could oppose two simple requirements to be a club officer. To be a club officer, you would have had to vote in three GOP primaries in Fairfield County and have voted in at least 50% of all primaries since registering to vote in the County.

Lisa, the voting restriction in Article II 1 (D) does not address the problem that arose in another club last October. I understand the problem last October was that there was no set time for the meeting which endorsed candidates. The meeting was to convene after the Chamber?’s Meet the Candidates session had adjourned. Treasurer Ed Laramee spent too much time socializing and got to the club meeting as it was about to adjourn. As an officer, I believe that Mr. Laramee should have made sure there was a set meeting time. I hold Mr. Laramee partially to blame for the problem last October.

Our township is blessed with excellent Republicans. I believe it is insulting to Republicans such as a Central Committee person or a member of Governor Taft?’s cabinet to have to wait a third of a year to vote.

Voting restrictions are not Republican ideals, Lisa!
The Trojan Horse

Now Mr. Uher has joined a Republican Club. Why would this new club consider Mr. Uher as a Republican?

The only political activity that Mr. Uher has participated in, over the last few years, is serving on the Pickerington school committees to raise money for the schools. No wait! Let me re-phase that. Over the last few years Mr. Uher has worked tirelessly to raise our taxes. Never in any of these campaigns has he felt any concern for the local taxpayers. Yet he continued to whine about how little money the schools had and how those that opposed him were greedy. Sounds like a tax and spend democrat to me. He is a liberal elite democrat at best. Who are his friends, yep more Democrats? LBJ would be proud!

He has only been in this Republican club for a week or so and he already wants to make changes. Not only does he want the Republicans to be able to vote after one meeting but he also wants to talk at the meetings! Sounds like Mark wants to Micro-manage this Republican club. He quotes a professor from Ohio State about rights and ideals. If you have spent any time around a university you will find they are all liberal Democrats. Is Mr. Uher part Jimmy Carter? Mr. Carter spent his whole administration worrying about human rights. Jimmy was also very intelligent and liked to micro-manage. Quoted intellects like his daughter. I see a pattern developing here.

Now what has Mark done when someone disagrees with him? He trashes their reputation and goes after their family and business if necessary. How about the issues, what is Mark Uher?’s position on any issue? Do you know? I don?’t, because he very rarely knows his own position because he is a Democrat. When cornered he will divert the argument to something totally unrelated. He repeats spin! Now in the last half of the last century, which President is Mark most like? Right, it was William Jefferson Clinton. When Mr. Clinton was accused of something he blame others. Mr. Clinton trashed the reputations of a number of women because he loved his power more than being responsible. Remember the 100 accountants that agreed with him on the economy before the election? Remember he did not inhale? He even took credit for the last quarter of the economy before he took office. Clinton went to great links to keep us all from finding out the truth. Remember the statement concerning Monica? What did Mark do to keep the voters in the school district from finding out what ?“minimum milage?” was all about?

Exactly what Republican ideals to you believe in, Mr. Uher? Do you believe in Honor, Duty, Country and Honesty? Do you have a moral compass like Mrs. Clinton? Do you have a brother named Roger? How about one named Billy? Mr. Uher before you can claim you are a Republican, you must get the web master to remove all of your postings on this web site because it is very hard for me to believe you.

Education is a GOP Ideal

Mark O Zorro

Sounds to me like you must have some Enron stock.

Yes, I am proud that education is a cornerstone of our great Republican party. In fact, if you listened to President Bush?’s remarks the other evening, education has bi-partisan support. Just think of it -- Congressman Boehner and Senator Kennedy on the same side of the issue.

Both Democrats and Republicans in this community value our schools and the outstanding job they do educating our children. The only critical remarks about our schools come from PATA members like you, Mr. Zorro.

Many of us consider investing in our schools and children a wise investment in our future and our community. And, Republicans seem to know how to invest our money rather well. Look at our rate of return on how little we invest in our children?’s education.
Actions of a few.......

Mark -

I'm having a hard time believing that I may agree with you at least in principle. It is a shame to restrict the right to vote of members - but I understand why. I have to draw the line when you hold Ed Laramee accountable for the embarrassing actions that took place in a ''Special Meeting'' after Meet the Candidates Night this past October.

The people that attended the special meeting & voted on issues where there were HUGE conflicts of interest did nothing more than take money they solicited from the area Republicans & spend it on their own campaigns. A more honest approach might have been to call area republicans directly & ask for donations.

It is the actions of ''Old Guard'' of the Old Pickerington Republican Club you can thank for the rules you see here today. I suggest you contact them if you are unhappy - I believe most of them can be reached through the ''Contact your Local Officials'' button on the City of Pickerington's website.
